A Buzz in Cell Phone of A Lady Advocate of Supreme Court

She represented State of Gujarat.
I was on behalf of a convicted prisoner.
We were waiting for the case to be a called out.
Suddenly a message came in her mobile.'
Her Father had just died in Baroda.

She could have left court.
But instead, she continued to sit in court till case was called.

This inspired me.
That evening, I wrote following poem.

A Buzz in Cell Phone of A Lady Advocate of Supreme Court

She waited impatiently
For her case to be called
In a court which was rather slow

Oh ! A buzz in her cell phone!
She came out from court
And pushed button of her phone
To hear what the caller has to say

Voice was not clear
Someone was sobbing
At other end
‘Your father has passed away’
The voice finally came clear

A sob went down
Before it came out

This was no time to break down
Her case was about to be called out

An convicted prisoner was decaying in jail
Since ten long years
And was flapping his wings fervently
To came out from the cage

They must not weep
till the case is called
She told her eyes

The heart must not sob
till case is called
She told her heart

The case was over in two hours
And she flew home by evening plane

But not without
first reaffirming
Higher values of this profession
Which makes this profession

Highest of all
