In a PIL, reports produced before Supreme Court showed that maximum crimes against women in cars, are committed in "Cars with some kind of tinted black films". Further the Court noticed that whether darkness of film is in permissible limit or not can only be checked with Luxometer which is not available with Indian police. Thirdly, the Court also noticed that due to films, chances of accident increase from 18% to 38% and such accidents are higher in India than in other parts of world.
After a detailed discussion of various other provisions of law, Supreme Court has passed order to remove black films from 4th May,2012 in PIL case of ASHOK Goenka.
All the Central Government and State Governments were directed implement the order.
After one year, do you see that orders of Supreme Court are fully complied by authorities. All you need to do is to look around to know the truth.
