This is what I wrote on retirement of former Chief Justice of India Mr.Justice S.P.Bharucha on 16 April 2002
He came as a judge
And left as a giant
When he came
The court was beaten
low
When he left
The court was walking
tall
He defined norms
Of judicial courage
Without crushing
Toes of executive and
legislator
And with every
judgement
He delivered
He freed nation
From paralysis of
indecision
He made it clear to
all
That judiciary is
A pillar stronger
than all
‘We are not holy cows
We are men and women
Of standards very
high
And shoulders very
broad
To lift burdens of a
billion’
