Gandhiji (6) Why the Sword of Truth and Non Violence is not working today?

This sword worked well in the hands of Gandhiji. In last 65 years, many have gone in the battlefield with this sword. Some of them were killed in battlefield. Someof them returned from battlefield with poor health and lost limbs. Rajkumar Hirani, producer of film "Lage Raho Munnabhai", tried to re-explain meaning of this sword through his film.

The film delivered Entertainment, but it failed to deliver meaning when a dialogue comes, "Gandhiji told us to offer another cheek if slapped on one cheek. But if you are slapped on other cheek also, then you can fight back."  At least, this contrasted with the main message of film.

Every youth in India begins to doubt, Gandhian Sword, the moment he feels that he has been slapped on other cheek also. He further becomes sure that he will be slapped every subsequent time also whenever he will offer his cheek, and his faith starts wavering.

I have also tried and have experienced that the Gandhian Sword is not working today and counter force is necessary.

Here, I wish to find out why this sword is not working.

1) A Sword is always a sword. whether it will work or not, depends on skill of person who holds the sword in his hand.

2) Even if you you are a good warrior, the Sword will not work, unless its edge is properly sharpened. It has to be sharpened daily, before you go to the battlefield.

Therefore? What am I trying to say?

Those who went in the battlefield with "Sword of Non-violence and Truth" and still failed, could be due to three reasons. (1) The warrior was not skill full (2) The sword was not properly sharpened and/or (3) Just bad luck.

What is the way to know whether a particular "Sword of Truth and Non-violence" is well sharpened or not?

Gandhiji called his life "Experiments with Truth". He has to try this sword again and again to find out and correct faults in this sword.

I interpret his experiments in this way.

When you pick up a sword of "Truth and Non-violence" , your opponent will immediately look directly inside your head with some kind of laser rays. If he will find a single metal piece of untruth and violence in you, your sword will not work on him. The magic power of the sword goes away.

Have I tried this?

I cannot. There are lots of metal pieces of Untruth and Violence in my head. I can't use this sword.

It appears to me that Gandhiji used fasts to introspect and to remove metal pieces of untruth and violence form his mind.

And this made the whole difference.

I don't think that all of us can do this.
